An average day for Eva is extraordinary in only how average it is. Go to school, go home, go to bed, repeat. But when Eva meets the Karmapolis Heroes, her world is quickly turned upside down. These four aliens with super powers are on a quest to repair their ship and restore the moral balance of the universe, but not before setting Earth straight. Babysitting these four overzealous super heroes turns into a full-time job for Eva. If the Karmapolis Heroes are saving Eva from everyday life, who's going to save her from her saviors? An average day for Eva isn't so average any more.

Captain Commander
Captain Commander is the fearless leader of the Karmapolis Heroes. Having trained for 17 years at the Liberty Academy, he and his fellow protectors of justice were sent to these far reaches of the galaxy to maintain karmic balance and defeat any who threaten that. Believing that common sense is for the common, he relies on the super-strength of his body and moral fiber to uphold universal integrity. Overcome by Eva's altruism, Captain Commander has sworn the services of the Karmapolis Heroes to fight for the judicature that she so rightly deserves.

Sonica
Sonica is the most quiet but dangerous of the Karmapolis Heroes. Her formidable skill in martial arts is only outdone by her proficiency in weaponry, and her aptitude in artillery can only be topped by her perilous sound-wave-bending super power. If her words are short, her temper is shorter as evidenced by her brief but deafening temper tantrums. Fiercely protective of Eva and all that is good and right, she silently follows like a guardian angel. …That has explosive ninja stars and sound-manipulation powers.

Dex
Dex is the walking arsenal of the Karmapolis Heroes. A "mech-warrior", he specializes in all things motorized and technological. While not the most proficient engineer in the universe, his vibrant, sassy, and brassy personality is anything but mechanical. Also pilot of the Karmapolis Heroes' spaceship, his goal is to repair their transport so that they can continue their interplanetary justice-rounds, once Eva has been appropriately defended and accessorized.

Behthani
Behthani is the resident wizard of the Karmapolis Heroes. Short of stature and temper, he is caustic, demanding, and assuming to compensate for his mildly effective skills as a magician. Still technically in the lower levels of mage training, his qualifications come into question during his many quarrels with Dex. While often critical of Eva, he is equally protective.

Genre Squad

Over-population…. A country in economic crisis…. An increasingly competitive marketplace…. All of these factors are making it harder and harder to get a job, anymore. And being a fully accredited zombie, robot, pirate, or ninja doesn’t help.

In a pop culture full of such characters, the only thing the GENRE SQUAD is qualified for is unemployment. Out of funds, time, and self-esteem, they are only left with each other. …Too bad friendship doesn’t pay rent.

The GENRE SQUAD: A monthly webcomic.
Updated on the 1st Monday of the month.

Saving Eva

CAPTAIN’S LOG, Earth Day 6.

Our earthling escort, the bravest Eva, introduced us to what they call “the park” today. There, we saw some more of those hairy, fanged beasts named “dogs” returning spherical objects to humans that seemed so desperate to be rid of them. The humans would hurl the entity as far away from them as their tiny human arms had the strength to, but the hirsute hounds would merely bring them back in their vicious, snarling jaws. You could tell how blood-thirsty they were by the amount they were salivating.

In an attempt to save the humans from these frenzied beasts, we, the Karmapolis Heroes, stepped in. Sonica used her sound-bending powers to temporarily handicap the monsters (as we discovered they are sensitive to high-pitched tones), Behthani gathered the offending spheres with his telekinesis (personal note: that does conflict with the conduct code of his current Mage Rank…consider consulting Captain’s Reprimanding Guide for tone of scolding), Dex incinerated some of the orbs with his mini-cannon, and I hurled the rest of the globes as far away as the humans intended, I’m sure.
However, the humans were inappropriately unhappy with our good deed. Kind Eva defended our honor by claiming we were joining in on their “game.” When this failed, she distracted them by pointing in a direction and claiming an ice cream truck was nearby (though a vehicle made entirely of frozen dairy product sounds unsafe).

During our escape, we witnessed several citizens neglecting to follow the lead of what wise Eva called a “walk sign.” Though we prepared our arrest of the offenders, she claims that battle is for another day.
